This is a different view of the Second Coming of Christ. The Bible clearly describes Him Coming in the clouds of heaven. “Every eye shall see him”… and “we shall be caught up to meet the Lord in the air”. There are thousands of paintings of this scene, but then what? This is a view of the redeemed of earth on the cloud with Jesus on the way to heaven. Jesus is looking up into the face of His Father. The light of heaven is shinning in His face and casting a shadow of a cross over the redeemed multitude, as they approach the gates of heaven. Earth is in the distance in flames.
